Huong Tran (Victoria), MSMFT
MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST

Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy (California, USA)

Fuller, School of Psychology (California, USA)
University of London

Marital and Family Therapy is a highly effective branch of psychology that focuses on understanding and improving relational dynamics. Unlike traditional individual therapy, which often targets personal issues in isolation, Marital and Family Therapy recognizes that many personal challenges, such as depression and anxiety, are deeply rooted in interpersonal relationships. This system approach has proven to be extremely effective in addressing these issues by exploring and improving the interactions and connections within couples and families.

Ms. Huong Tran, MSMFT, exemplifies this approach through her dedicated practice. With a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the prestigious Fuller Theological Seminary, School of Psychology in Pasadena, California, Huong brings nearly a decade of experience in enhancing connection and communication within families, couples, and individuals. Before relocating to Ho Chi Minh City in late 2016, Ms. Huong Tran worked with a Department of Mental Health-funded agency in Los Angeles where she supported families of various cultural backgrounds. Huong’s therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, authenticity, and a steadfast commitment to her clients’ well-being, drawing from her multicultural background and diverse experiences to offer a unique perspective that resonates with clients from various walks of life.

In addition to her private practice, Huong excels in facilitating seminars and workshops for larger groups, leveraging her expertise to engage participants in dynamic learning experiences. She has collaborated with embassies to assist their employees in effectively managing crisis situations and partners with corporations to deliver anti-sexual harassment workshops. In these workshops, Huong not only imparts knowledge on prevention but also equips managers with empathetic approaches to handling such cases, fostering a safe environment for employees to voice concerns without fear of reprisal.

Passionate about making mental health resources more accessible, Huong is working on e-learning materials that simplify complex psychological concepts into practical, everyday tools. She aims to deliver these materials through widely used e-learning platforms and social media channels, aiming to demystify the complexities of the human mind and relationship dynamics. In a landscape where mental health resources in the Vietnamese language are often scarce, Huong is committed to bridging this gap. Her mission is to ensure that more families have access to the support they need to thrive.
